I have read stories of the amazing things our fathers in the faith did in their time…how they broke the barriers of every known human limitation by the Spirit. Great miracles and unimaginable feats were recorded about them. It seems those expressions of the Holy Spirit in their time are becoming distant realities today. We only read about them in books and scarcely see them in this age. But thank God for the outpour of His Spirit in these last days! But…how many of us are really ready for it? How many of us are positioned for it?

There’s one decision we must take if we are to partake of the agenda of God and the move of the Spirit of the end time…we must say goodbye to the Gospel of convenience and hold onto the real Gospel of our Lord and Master, Jesus.

Serving God deliberately, genuinely, committedly and wholeheartedly has never been convenient. It requires sacrifices and a lot of it all through the journey…History is filled with stories of faithfuls who walked through this path…

…ask Noah who had to build an ark for a period of about 100 years (according to Bible scholars) while he had to put of with the mockery and ridicule from his community. Noah had other reasons to doubt God’s instruction; no one had ever seen rain in his time, yet God told him to prepare for a flood. And the nearest sea to his location was several miles away.

…ask Abraham who waited 25 years for a son and later agreed to sacrifice him to God.

…ask Moses who had to give up the entitlement and privileges attached to his title-as a prince of Egypt-in order to fulfil his purpose as a deliverer of Israel.

…ask Joseph who didn’t ask for a dream and purpose of being the instrument of preserving the household of Jacob, Egypt and the rest of the world. His life was rudely interrupted by the hatred of brotherhood, slavery and conspiracy.

…ask Mary, a virgin who never prepared to have a baby who her husband wasn’t responsible for. She faced the risk of being abandoned by her husband-to-be. She would have been the talk of town had Joseph changed his mind on hearing of her pregnancy by the Holy Spirit.

…ask the disciples who were busy minding their businesses when Jesus called them to literally lay down their lives (and everything attached to convenience) in order to serve Him. History tells us how almost all of them were brutally murdered.

Today, there are untold numbers of unknown men and women who have given up everything for Jesus and His Kingdom.

Anyone who tells you serving God could be convenient has either deliberately sold you a lie or is ignorantly misleading you along with many other persons.

Serving God with everything you have isn’t a waste of your time. It’s by far the greatest time investment ever! It is the most rewarding venture you could ever delve into. Glory to God!

*”And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s.

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”* Mark 10:29, 30

My question to you today is…

Are you ready to truly serve God, considering the risks and rewards attached?

Are you ready to give your all or are you still halting between two options, on the sidewalks of indecision?
